WACO, Texas -- Bryan Hernandez of University of the Southwest (N.M.) and Connor McMullin of LSU Shreveport (La.) garnered Red River Athletic Conference Baseball Co-Player of the Week honors for April 21-27, while LSUS' David Diaz was selected as RRAC Pitcher of the Week for the same dates. This is the 13th and final set of weekly awards for the 2014 season.

Hernandez, a junior centerfielder from El Paso, Texas, drove in eight runs and scored four for the Mustangs last week. He hit in every game of a four-game series against Wiley College (Texas) including a two-run home run in the opening game. Hernandez drove in a pair of runs with two doubles in the second game, and closed the series with 3-for-5 and four RBIs in the finale. For the week, he was 9-for-17 at the plate with four doubles and a homer. USW wrapped up the season at 4-20 in conference play and 7-32 overall.

McMullin, a sophomore third baseman from Dripping Springs, Texas, went 13-for-18 hitting on the week as the Pilots secured the RRAC regular season championship. He was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs in a 14-8 non-conference win over Centenary College (La.). After Jarvis Christian College (Texas) won the first game of a four-game series to tie LSUS in the conference standings, McMullin accounted for three hits and a pair of RBIs in a 12-1 second-game victory then drove in two more runs while going 4-for-4 in a 9-2 title-clinching win. He finished the week with two runs scored and six RBIs as the eight-ranked Pilots finished conference play at 19-5 with a mark of 40-14 overall.

Diaz, a junior pitcher/rightfielder from Fort Worth, Texas, tossed his first complete game of the season with a three-hitter to earn the 12-1 victory over JCC. In seven innings of work, he allowed only one unearned run while striking out six hitters and walking one.

Keenan Allison of Wiley College (Texas), Garrett Hackley of Texas College, and Peter Rodriguez of Bacone College (Okla.) were additional player nominees. Joseph Delfin of JCC, Tim Hill of Bacone, and Zack Long of Wiley were also nominated for pitcher of the week.
