Hobbs, NM - The USW Men's and Women's soccer teams know the game doesn't stop when season ends. Both teams are in full swing with off season workouts.
Both teams are currently doing testing in fitness four days a week. The testing includes timed distance runs, sprints, and max outs. In between classes, workouts, and sleep the Mustangs find time to head out to the field working on skills, agilities, and getting game like situations in during scrimmage.
When not testing, Mustang soccer teams will be in the gym doing circuit training; involving plyometric, core, and speed workouts. Once a week the USW teams wake up in the early morning for a cardio and abdominal session.
"Retention on both teams is high and both teams look promising for next season" said Women's Assistant Coach, Alex Lopez. USW soccer is working hard and is looking forward to the 2012 season to be able to show off their hard work.
