Coach Belmontes enters his first season in 2012-2013 as the head coach of the men's and women's cross country and track teams. A native of El Paso, TX, he attended West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX where he was a member of the cross country program that experienced much success in his time with the program. While attending the university, Coach Belmontes earned a bachelor degree in Sports Exercise Science with a minor in mathematics.

Lito was the assistant cross country coach at El Paso Community College from August of 2009 to March of 2012. During that time the Men's team won a conference title as well as a regional title in their respective division. Along with being the head cross country and track coach, Coach Belmontes will be the Assistant Director of Student Life.
