Coach Paul Baker enters into his sixth year of coaching at USW. Prior to his inaugural year at USW, Baker spent 24 years in the Hobbs Municipal Schools coaching tennis, basketball, football, track and volleyball. Coach Baker also coached 25 years for the City of Hobbs Summer Tennis Program. During his time at the secondary level Baker's record attained the best overall win record as the tennis coach at Hobbs High School as well as the following accolades:

315-72 (18 Years as Hobbs High School Tennis Coach)
14 District Championships (Men/Women)
7 Individual State Titles (2 women's single titles) (3 women's double titles) (2 men's double titles)
3 State Championships -2 times state runner-up (one, 3rd Place; one, 4th Place)

Prior to coaching, Baker started his playing career at Lovington High School where he got All-District and All-Regional honors. After graduation went to on to play at Lubbock Christian University where he attained All-Conference, All-State, and Tennis Champion awards.

Coach Paul Baker currently resides in Hobbs with his wife, Tammie, and two children, Sara and Joshua.
