[Softball] Softball Grabs Multiple RRAC Honors

WACO, Texas -- Following are the members of the 2013 Red River Athletic Conference Softball All-Conference Team and individual award-winners as voted by the conference's coaches. The top 18 players in the conference were selected to the All-Conference Team regardless of position.

Hobbs, NM (5/1/2013) – The Mustang Softball team is headed to Farmers Branch, TX as the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament is set to start on Thursday at Oran Good Park. The USW opens the tournament at 12:30 p.m. against Langston University.

Hobbs, NM (January 28, 2013) - The USW Mustang Women's Softball Team has earned their way to the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) every year for 8 years in a row and again should be a contender in 2013. Head Coach Ron Landschoot is quite optimistic about this year's team. Despite returning only 5 Players from last year, a strong recruiting class should bode well for the Mustangs. Leading the way for the Returnees will be Junior 2 time All-Conference Pitcher Ciara Fraher. Four quality and experienced Sophomores also return including Pitcher Evie Duarte, Catcher Alex Marquez, Shortstop Jessica Zamora, and Outfielder Tykee McGaha.

Hobbs, NM – The Red River Athletic Conference announced their All-Conference selections for the 2012 softball season this past weekend. Ciara Fraher and Dede Perez earned honors for the University of the Southwest, both of which were repeat selections as each were also 2011 All-Conference selections.

[Softball] Softball Gets #6 Seed, Opens RRAC Tournament With #3 Northwood

Hobbs, NM – The University of the Southwest softball team is headed to Farmers Branch, TX with the #6 seed in the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament and will open play with #3 seed Northwood University on Thursday at 10:00 am CST. This will be the 8th straight appearance in the RRAC Tournament for the USW softball program.

WACO, Texas -- Ashleigh Jiminez of Texas Wesleyan University and Dede Perez of the University of the Southwest (N.M.) earned a share of the Red River Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week award for April 16-22, while TWU's Alexis Beltran collected the RRAC Softball Pitcher of the Week honor for the same dates.
